All About the Man! Pattern-Making Edition!

Now that you have all the measurements, there is a process in how to measure and draw each measurement. I was able to learn the basics of the process and I thought it was more helpful to have it written down as well as a video.

FYI:

  • Each point should be labeled with numbers in order to help you keep track of where you are in the process.
  • Use pencil color that is visible to the color of the paper you're using.
  • Draw closer to the edge to save paper.
  • As I refer to sections, the patternmaking sections will be abbreviated to "PM" and the measurement sections will be "M".

All About the Man! Let's Get Measuring!

This blog post is all about the man.....a man's clothing, of course.

One day, my husband was sharing his difficulties of finding shirts that fit him the way he liked.

Darn the generic sizes of Medium and Large....

So this sparked my journey to figure out how to make a man's shirt from nothing.

FYI: I do not have a fashion degree, never have used a sewing machine in my life, my sewing skills by hand are at beginner's level, so here we go...

Second Creation - Husband's Hoodie Shirt

Welcome! Welcome! Friends!

I finished my husband's shirt/hoodie before I left for my Belated Korean Honeymoon.

I have photos of each stage of my journey in figuring out how to make shirts for my husband.

First, when I was researching on measuring for clothing for men and women, at first I thought it was the same, but I found that the measurements for men's and women's clothing were entirely different. I am still figuring out the details on how to measure a women's clothing, but I think I have figured out the general idea for men's clothing.

I will have the exact details of how to measure men's clothing on another blog post.
